What a day, and what a way to celebrate 16 years of customer success! Hard to believe that so much happened in just one day. In all, Salesforce was delighted to welcome delegates, partners and staff to the Exhibition and Conference Centre on Melbourne’s South Bank as well as, streaming the keynote and top breakout sessions across our live stream.

The social discussion amounted to an astonishing 4,171 tweets making #SalesforceTour trend nationally on Twitter.

However, most will agree that perhaps the most significant number of the day was the 150 annual magazine subscriptions sold to business delegates on behalf of The Big Issue. This was enough to secure safe employment in The Big Issue Subscriptions Centre for one homeless woman for one year. We are proud to have The Big Issue as part of our 1:1:1 program for non profits.

Bringing a buzz to the proceedings was the exciting global announcement of a suite of solutions for the new Apple Watch including the Salesforce Analytics Cloud and Salesforce1 Platform for Apple Watch and the extension of the Salesforce Wear Develop Pack to the exciting new field of wrist-based technology.

A sneak peak at the new cutting edge technology was just one of the many exciting demos to dazzle the Keynote audience. You can watch them and every other aspect of the keynote in by clicking here on replay.

Of more local significance, Salesforce also announced a commitment to the Australian start-up community of technology expertise and software resources to fast track them on their way to success, in partnership with StartUpAus, the non-profit technology advocacy group. This partnership delivers a valuable package to small businesses starting out for the first time. As Ludovic Ulrich, Head of Startup Relations, Salesforce, pointed out in his Startup Mythbusters session, success is certainly not a given, without the right support:

As always, at the centre of the Keynote is a showcase of Salesforce Customer Success. Customer service is a core aspect of this success, with its power summed up by presenter - SVP and GM of Desk.com - Leyla Sekla:

One customer excelling at this is the Australian Rugby Union, one of the featured case studies and one which provided one of the more light hearted moments as Leyla shared with the audience by sharing her video efforts to learn more about the game!

Rob Clarke - GM of Marketing and Operations for the Australian Rugby Union - described his delight at working with Salesforce to build Rugby Link, a platform for connecting with Rugby Fans:

Another key theme of the presentation was the Unfair Advantage that our Salesforce customers enjoy over competitors, with a great example of this being Optus

In turn, Optus customers are able to gain an Unfair Advantage over their competitors too, as Head of Sales Operations and Business Development, Frances Martin explained:

Salesforce is a game changer for Optus SMB customers. Frances Martin

As the keynote wrapped up and delegates made their way to a rich stream of 30+ informative and helpful breakout sessions (more on these in the coming weeks), they also took time to peruse the busy Cloud expo, home for the day to our partners exhibiting their role in the Salesforce partner ecosystem.

If you attended and enjoyed the day, or wished you had, why not think about joining us in San Francisco for Dreamforce in September 15-18, 2015.
