Whenever I talk about my job, people inevitably have a lot of questions. One of the most common is: Why cloud?

The answer is simple: The cloud is changing everything.

Cloud technology is not only changing the way we work, but it is also helping individuals and businesses push boundaries to find new ways to interact and do business. It’s creating new pathways for communication and data that are making the world in which we live more connected, more collaborative and more informed.

So, in return I often ask: Why not cloud?

Seeing These Changes in Action

People in my industry get to see these changes in action every day. And those of us with this bird's eye view gain constant knowledge of how the cloud is changing business as we know it. However, not everyone is lucky enough to have this perspective.

That’s why I’m so excited about Salesforce World Tour Melbourne next month. This event is putting the spotlight on what I get to see every day, giving attendees a more complete understanding of how cloud technology can affect their businesses and how it’s already impacting those around them.

While it’s one thing to be aware that these changes are taking place, nothing compares to actually learning from other organisations firsthand about how they have moved to the cloud. And that’s a big reason why Salesforce World Tour, with its numerous breakout sessions, demos and networking opportunities, can be so inspiring.

Putting Data Front and Centre

Data has always been a major part of these changes. Recently, we've seen a renewed excitement and focus when it comes to managing it, as new tools are coming out that unlock and uncover new opportunities. Today, we’re able to understand and manipulate that data and use that newfound knowledge to make more educated decisions. This ability is changing decision making processes and what constitutes as “business as usual,” ultimately affecting the bottom line.

Salesforce's newest platform, the Analytics Cloud, is ready and leading the charge in this respect. Given what a huge role data plays in the cloud, Cloud Sherpas has made it a priority to help businesses find value in what they’re collecting. With this in mind, we’ll be putting analytics front and centre at the event.

Our local team of cloud experts, developers and product support specialists will be leading Analytics Cloud demonstrations throughout the day. They’ll also be available for one-on-one conversations to share more details about what’s possible and what integrations make sense for different business models. Finally, our team will be leading an Analytics Cloud breakout session that focuses on industry-specific solutions.

Innovation Takes Teamwork

The cloud may make working together simpler, but getting it right takes skill and experience. As a result, the businesses that benefit the most are those that embrace these changes with the help of an experienced Salesforce partner.

I invite you to find out more and answer the “why cloud” question for yourself: Join me and the entire Cloud Sherpas team on 10 March for Salesforce World Tour Melbourne.
