Well firstly,  I am loathe to refer to myself as a genius. I must admit the title doesn’t sit well with us and it’s almost un-Australian to say you’re a genius so why don’t we call them “Smarty Pants.”

On the 26th March at the Salesforce1 World Tour event in Melbourne we will, for the first time in Australia, have a dedicated place where you can come and speak to the Australian MVP’s (Matt Lacey, Steven Herod, Jason Lawrence and Myself) and others from the local Salesforce community and get your questions answered.

This is a gathering of like minded people from the salesforce.com community that want to help others out. For me the Community is the strength of Salesforce. I have not seen or been involved in any other technology that has such a strong following and a dedicated community which feels more like an extended family. Have you visited the Salesforce Community site? At the time of writing there are 1,069,600 members and 174 user groups across the globe. Yes that’s right over 1.0m members! All helping each other out and helping your implementation be more successful by resolving any questions you have.

For those of us that have been to Dreamforce and experienced the “cult-like” feel you will understand what it is like to be swept up and into the community and now it’s time to experience it on the ground here in Australia. There is something special, and comforting, knowing that someone somewhere has the answer and is willing to help.

We would love a chance for you to come along and try and stump the team at the Genius “Smarty Pants” Bar. Or if you’re up for the challenge why not sign up here to join us and help out. Some members of the local community and user groups have already signed up, but we could always do with more help and support.

And most of all don’t worry if you think you may not know enough - there will be someone else there that will help out. After all, we are all “Smarty Pants” and we stand together in the Salesforce Community.
