Today, we’re delighted to announce a new effort to support small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Singapore – The Salesforce Small Business Relief Grants Programme.
Salesforce is teaming up with the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) to offer S$960,000 to 120 eligible SMBs. These grants will help SMBs to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and return to growth.
In Singapore, SMBs represent almost two-thirds of all employers and contribute to 44% of the nominal value added to the economy.
But they are more than drivers of the economy; they are the heart of our communities.
During Singapore’s two-month long “circuit breaker”, SMBs stepped up to provide much needed support and comfort to Singaporeans. They cooked free food for the needy, sew cloth masks, spread word about job opportunities, and so much more. All while dealing with the stringent lockdown restrictions placed upon them.
SMBs are also some of the most innovative, agile, and resilient Trailblazers. We know SMBs that have embraced digital transformation and even managed to grow in spite of the pandemic.
“With entrepreneurial spirit and dynamism at their core, SMBs have exactly what it takes to innovate and lead the way as flexible models of growth for the business community and economy.”
That said, SMBs across many sectors need help. They struggle with low revenue, rentals, diversifying their offerings, and more. As a result, they have to scale back their growth and expansion plans.
At Salesforce, we see the bravery and tenacity of SMBs, and want to support them.
Time to give back to our communities is not just a perk of working at Salesforce; it’s a significant part of our culture. We’ve partnered with organisations worldwide to tackle a variety of problems, from hunger to health crises to climate change.
COVID-19 has shown that the communities we serve need us more than ever. When it comes to helping SMBs survive the pandemic, we’ve rolled out similar grants programmes in the USA, UK, Australia, and Canada. We’ve also given selected SMBs free access to Salesforce Essentials and Tableau.
We hope that the Salesforce Small Business Relief Grants Programme will give SMBs in Singapore a much-needed boost to overcome this difficult time. SMBs can use the grants to cover rental and operation costs, maintain employee payroll, embark on digital transformation, and more.
“SMBs are a crucial part of Singapore’s identity and economy. We are proud to partner with SBF on this initiative to empower SMBs to thrive and lead Singapore’s economic recovery and growth.”
There’s never been a better time to give back to SMBs, and we encourage everyone to support them in every way. Shop local. Contribute to fundraisers. Give referrals and write online reviews.
SMBs were there for us during the difficult lockdowns. We want to be there for them too, by helping them get back to growth.
